Environmental Politics Environmental Justice Questions
The role of environmental justice in environmental decision-making processes is to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their race, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, have equal access to and are not disproportionately burdened by environmental benefits and harms. It aims to address and rectify the inequitable distribution of environmental risks and benefits by involving affected communities in decision-making processes, considering their perspectives and concerns, and promoting fair and just outcomes. Environmental justice seeks to challenge and overcome systemic environmental injustices and promote environmental equity and sustainability.
