The concept of hard determinism of consciousness posits that all mental states and experiences, including consciousness itself, are completely determined by prior physical events and processes. According to this view, there is no room for free will or any form of indeterminism in the realm of consciousness. Hard determinists argue that every thought, feeling, and decision we have is ultimately the result of a chain of cause and effect, governed by the laws of physics and the initial conditions of the universe.
