At its height, Alexander the Great's empire stretched from Greece and Egypt in the west to India in the east. It covered a vast territory that included modern-day Greece, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and parts of India. This empire was the largest the world had seen up to that point in history, spanning approximately 2 million square miles. Alexander's conquests and the establishment of his empire had a significant impact on the spread of Greek culture, language, and ideas throughout the regions he conquered, a period known as the Hellenistic era.
