History Alexander The Great Questions Medium
Alexander the Great died on June 10, 323 BC, at the age of 32. The exact cause of his death remains a subject of debate among historians. The most widely accepted theory is that he died from complications arising from a high fever, possibly malaria or typhoid fever. This fever is believed to have been exacerbated by his excessive drinking and physical exertion during his military campaigns. Another theory suggests that he may have been poisoned, possibly by one of his close associates or even his own generals, due to political rivalries and power struggles. However, there is limited evidence to support this theory. Regardless of the exact cause, Alexander's death marked the end of his empire and led to a period of political instability and the division of his vast territories among his generals, known as the Diadochi.
