Sentence Combining Questions
Some examples of sentence combining activities used in ESL classrooms include:
1. Sentence puzzles: Students are given jumbled words and are required to rearrange them to form grammatically correct sentences.
2. Sentence strips: Students are given individual strips of paper with different parts of a sentence written on them. They have to work together to combine the strips and create complete sentences.
3. Sentence building games: Students play games where they have to combine given sentences to create new, longer sentences.
4. Sentence transformation exercises: Students are given a sentence and are asked to rewrite it using a different sentence structure or combining it with another sentence.
5. Collaborative writing tasks: Students work in pairs or groups to write a paragraph or story, combining their individual sentences to create a cohesive piece of writing.
